The new Mercedes E Class, a wild mix of family car and crossover

With 4Matic all-wheel drive as standard, increased ground clearance thanks to the Airmatic air suspension and an off-road driving program, the new E-Class All-Terrain handles uneven terrain with ease. Other practical details include the off-road display and the “transparent hood”, which is part of the 360-degree camera.

Off-road design elements include a unique front grille, specific bumpers, high-gloss chrome front and rear skid plates and dark gray wheel arch liners. Compared to the conventional E-Class Estate, it only grows in height, up to 1,497 mm. The new E-Class All-Terrain is 28 mm wider than the previous model, increasing space for comfortable travel, especially in the back.

The trunk has a loading capacity of 615 to 1,830l (460 and 1,675 in the plug-in hybrid). It displays off-road design elements such as an SUV-style two-slat grille in Iridium Silver, specific bumpers, underbody protection, dark gray wheel arch trims or a robust stainless steel loading sill protection.

The E-Class All-Terrain is equipped with Airmatic pneumatic suspension that maintains constant ground clearance regardless of the vehicle load. When driving with the Comfort driving program selected, the vehicle is automatically lowered by 15 mm when the speed reaches 120 km/h. When it goes on sale from the first quarter of 2024, the customer will be able to choose between three propulsion variants: diesel, gasoline and plug-in hybrid.

Combustion models are powered by four- and six-cylinder engines. They adopt intelligent supercharging technology and an integrated starter generator to achieve light hybridization, with a new battery. The PHEV version can travel up to 100 km in zero emissions mode.
