In La Vanguardia Readers' Photos we can enjoy the autumn colors reflected in the Navarcles pond, in the Bages region, with the ducks enjoying its waters.
The Navarcles lake is actually a reservoir in the Calders river located shortly after the Pólvora lock and before the confluence with the Llobregat river.
The reservoir completely floods the lowest section of the Calders River valley, forming a lake 345 meters long by 65 meters wide, a kind of small Banyoles, but in the Bages. In fact, it is the second largest pond in this region after the Agulla, in Manresa.
It is a good ecosystem for fish and aquatic birds, like ducks, which are very calm around here. The groves stand out, where we can observe a variety of birds.
The reservoir has become a place for family leisure, with a playground, a picnic area and a pier, as well as paths to exercise while contemplating nature.
This environment invites us to walk or discover it by bicycle. You can also sail by boat, canoe or even get started in the world of climbing.
