National Police agents have saved the life of a two-year-old boy who was drowning in his home in the Madrid district of Puente de Vallecas, who is in perfect condition after receiving medical attention.

The intervention took place last Friday when the officers were alerted by the boy's father that he was drowning and could not breathe, the General Directorate of the Police reported.

A citizen security patrol went to the family's home and there they verified that the minor, who was with his father, was unconscious and neither breathing nor responding to stimuli.

The police officers performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers for several minutes until the child began to cough and breathe, at which time they placed him in a lateral safety position.

Later, a health team arrived and transferred the patient to a hospital to continue with medical assistance.

The Police officers collaborated with the health services, providing them with all the information about the intervention they had carried out and escorting them to the hospital.

The doctors congratulated the agents for their quick action and this Monday the minor's relatives went to the Puente de Vallecas police station to thank them for their work and inform them that their son is at home and in perfect health.
