The Montitxelvo forest fire has been extinguished after leaving 2,500 hectares burned

The forest fire declared on November 2 in the Valencian town of Montitxelvo has been declared extinguished, as reported by '112 Comunitat Valenciana'.

The firefighters declared the fire extinguished at 9:43 p.m. this Wednesday, 13 days after its declaration, with 2,500 hectares burned. It was considered controlled on the 6th.

Regarding the origin of the fire, precisely this Wednesday the Government delegate in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, stated that it was not triggered by natural causes, although she appealed to "prudence" because there are several circumstances that could have caused it, such as an accident or lack of maintenance.

According to the delegate, "the Civil Guard has determined the specific place where the fire started" and "it is clear that it was not a natural cause, but the investigation is still ongoing," she specified.
