The minimum vital income reaches 1.6 million people: how much is charged?

The scope of the minimum vital income was extended in January with 37,274 new beneficiaries, according to statistics made public this Tuesday by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migrations. With the latest recipients, 560,809 households are reached with the help, covering a total of 1.6 million people who already receive the updated benefits of 2023.

Minors live in 66% of recipient households, for which a total of 676,288 benefit. Up to 314,639 benefits also have an extra support of 100 euros per month for each child from zero to three years, 70 euros for those between 3 and 6 years, and 50 euros for the group between 6 and 18 years.

Likewise, the Ministry indicates that in two out of three households the holder of the benefit is a woman and, if the total number of beneficiaries is taken into account, 54.3% belong to this group (858,445).

The most repeated case is that of a household with 2 adults and 2 minors, which occurs in 83,913 approved files. Just behind are households with 1 adult and 1 minor, with 83,482 files.

In general terms, the region with the most benefits is Andalusia, with 171,105, followed by 64,797 in Catalonia and 53,489 in Madrid, coinciding with the most populated.

Apart from these starting amounts, there are supplements for disability and for the age of minors in the home, ranging from 115 euros for children under 3 years of age to 57.50 for people over 6 years of age.

All cases can be consulted in detail on the Social Security portal.
