The mediator also points to the Canary Islands Coalition and the PP: "I am faithful to whoever governs"

The intermediary of the so-called Mediator case that has shaken Canarian and Spanish politics, Marco Antonio Navarro Tacoronte, has plugged in the fan and has hinted that the plot goes beyond the Canarian PSOE and affects other parties on the islands such as the Canary Islands Coalition and the PP.

He has done so in an interview on Xanadú Radio in Tenerife, in which Tacoronte, asked if he has worked with other parties beyond the PSOE, recalled that he has been "exercising" his "functions" -as an intermediary- since 2015 and that he is "Faithful to who is ruling, if at this moment it is the PSOE, the PSOE is my turn." At this point, the mediator has been asked if he mediated with others when the PSOE was not there. "Yes, of course", he has answered, implying that he had worked with CC, who governed the islands before the socialists. The journalists have then asked him why he has not given more names. "What do you want me to get 40 more years in jail?" Tacoronte responded rhetorically.

At another point in the interview, he assured that he met with the former mayor of Los Realejos and current president of the PP of the Canary Islands and candidate for the 28-M elections, Manuel Domínguez, of whom he said that "he knew about the matter for a long time " and who has threatened to "take the City of Los Realejos for a walk" and the alleged efforts that he claims to have made for that Consistory.

Precisely Domínguez, has admitted this Wednesday that he met Tacoronte a little over a year ago and through a journalist, who wanted to inform him of maneuvers against him.

Tacoronte also explained that there was a case of corruption that "was going to spread everywhere." Domínguez has assured in statements to journalists from the Parliament of the Canary Islands, that he gave him the fair credibility that can be given to statements made during the course of "a coffee".

The mediator mentions alleged efforts made since 2015 with current or recent political representatives of a large number of councils in Tenerife such as La Laguna, Guía de Isora, Arona, Güimar or Los Realejos, casting doubt on mayors and councilors from different areas, although without specifying excessive details about the alleged irregularities.

For her part, the Secretary of Organization of the PSOE Canarias, Nira Fierro, has presented to the media the mediator's statements about Domínguez, although she later wanted to show her doubts about the veracity of what was stated about the popular leader and her knowledge of details of the plot.

"We have learned through the media that, according to the mediator, the PP candidate for the Presidency of the Canary Islands was aware of the facts that have been reported these days and what we are asking for is what we demand of ourselves, which is to start from the innocence that we ask for the facts related to our candidate [the president of the Government of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, of whom the mediator maintains that he was aware of the plot]," said Fierro.

In statements to the media, the Secretary of Organization of the Canarian PSOE reiterated that we must start from innocence to face "each of these new news items that are coming out every day from the so-called mediator."

"He said that the PP candidate knew the facts that have come to light and, therefore, we ask the PP to deal with this matter as we have done, always basing ourselves on the presumption of innocence," he stressed. Here, he advocated questioning the claims of a person who has been convicted of various causes. "Therefore, [Domínguez] has to have the caution and the right to doubt that we are requesting for ourselves," he concluded.
