The Manel group kicks off the Som de Mar festival in Lloret

The Manel group is in charge of opening the Som de Mar festival today, which will be held in the privileged setting of the Santa Clotilde Gardens, one of the best-kept treasures in Lloret de Mar, until August 27.

In this third edition, a total of nine artists will perform on stage, most of them Catalan, all of them with a variety of styles and artistic proposals. From veterans on the music scene like Els Pets and Boney M, with their seventies proposal, to the optimistic freshness of Joan Dausà, without forgetting Ramon Mirabet, Blaumut and the former leader of the Ronaldos, Coque Malla, ready to give everything with his rock pop. Special mention to Rosario Flores and Sergio Dalma, not only for their scenic proposals, but also because the tickets for their concerts have been sold out.

An appointment in the form of nine days of music in an incomparable setting and with views of the sea, as the gardens are located on a cliff between Cala Boadella and Fenals beach.

The festival will have, unlike in past years, a capacity of one hundred percent, thus having all of its 1,200 seats. It is not the only novelty of this 2022, as it is interesting to highlight the creation of new stimuli for fans to attend, not only the festival's offer, but also the attractiveness of Lloret. One of them is the creation of new spaces around the access to Sa Boadella cove, located right next to the gardens, so that the attending public will be able to enjoy more areas in the festival village, one of them gastronomic and free access.

Som de Mar was born in the midst of a pandemic, in 2020, when most summer festivals lowered the curtain for fear that covid cases would skyrocket. However, the organizers launched it in order to promote new cultural and safe leisure proposals, and with the idea of turning the crisis into opportunities.

A few weeks ago, the mayor of Lloret de Mar, Jaume Dulsat, described the festival as a "very consolidated" event, despite its youth. For his part, the Councilor for Economic Promotion, Jordi Orobitg, predicted "an exponential leap in quality" this summer.
