The popular jury has found the defendant guilty of murdering a 92-year-old woman whom she cared for as an intern by suffocating her with a cushion in November 2021.

Legal sources have reported the verdict of the popular jury that has tried the case, which has considered proven that Elsa D.I. is guilty of a crime of murder, reports Efe.

The sentence of the case will be known in the next few days, although in the last session of the trial the prosecutor maintained his request for reviewable permanent imprisonment for the defendant, insisting on the thesis that it was a murder with treachery -acting to ensure the result and that the victim cannot defend himself.

The events, according to the Public Ministry, occurred on November 20, 2021 at around 03:25 in the morning, when Elsa entered the room of the old woman she was caring for with a cushion and, "taking advantage of the extremely fragile situation of her", he placed it on her nose in order to suffocate her and cause her death while she slept, without her being able to "show any resistance".

The crime was recorded thanks to a camera installed by her family in her room, the recording of which was exposed to the jury last Tuesday and in which Elsa can be seen entering the old woman's bedroom with a cushion and placing it on her head area while sleeping.

Although the action is not seen, the victim's cry of surprise upon waking up and the consequent groans of agony are heard for just over ten minutes.

The defendant began working as an intern on June 30, 2019 at the address located on Víctor Andrés Belaunde street in the Madrid district of Chamartín, where she cared for and provided all the necessary assistance to the victim, who suffered from, among other diseases, right hemiparesis. residual, fluid dysphagia, chronic kidney disease, dyslipidemia, chronic anemia, and dementia.
