The judge orders Félix Millet to go back to sleep in jail

Félix Millet will have to go back to sleep in jail. The prison surveillance court decided to suspend the third degree of the former president of the Palau de la Música on February 13 due to an incurable illness, while he studies whether to allow permanent entry into a residence.

The news advanced by ACN states that Millet was transferred again on Tuesday of this week to the Brians 2 infirmary. The Department of Justice had authorized in mid-January that he enter a residence with medical assistance and not return to jail, applying the modality of the third degree due to their state of health by virtue of article 86.4.

Millet, 86, had been in third grade since November of last year, but due to his condition he remained in the Terrassa prison hospital. Months before, the court had rejected an appeal by his defense against his initial classification in second grade.

The president of the Fundació Orfeó Català and Palau de la Músca for 19 years (from 1990 until his dismissal in 2009) was sentenced to nine years and eight months in prison for crimes of embezzlement, misappropriation, influence peddling, document falsification and money laundering in 2018. Millet and his right-hand man, Jordi Montull, have only returned half of the 23 million euros they diverted.
