The Great Cloud of 'National Geographic'

It is the first time that one of my photographs has been chosen on the Instagram of National Geographic Spain and it makes me immensely excited. It is about this snapshot that I took in Manlleu (Osona) and, as they say, “get ready to feel the force of nature”.

In its presentation, National Geographic Spain explains that "storms can be impressive and terrifying at the same time."

"But they are also a unique opportunity to see the beauty of Mother Nature in its wildest state," they highlight.

In this image, shared in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia, we can see the great cloud over the Puig-agut sanctuary, a cloud that not only occupies a good part of the sky with its extraordinary shape, but also projects and doubles reflected in the water.

The Puig-agut sanctuary is located in this beautiful natural enclave in Manlleu. In addition to being a place with a lot of history, it has great architectural beauty that accompanies the phenomena of nature.

Neo-Gothic in style, the sanctuary is included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia. It is located on top of a hill at an altitude of 696 meters, the highest point in the municipality of Manlleu.

It is dedicated to Lourdes and Saint Joseph, but it is best known because it was the first sanctuary of its kind in Spain to be dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
