The Granier bakery chain enters the 'delivery' with Freshperts

The Granier bakery chain has teamed up with Freshperts to start home delivery of bread, pastries and catering food. Both Catalan companies have created a new company, called Fresh Delivery Brands, which is owned 51% by Freshperts, 44% by Granier and 5% by an external partner.

"We've wanted to get into delivery for a long time and Freshperts has a lot of experience through chains like Sushifresh, Boko or Fish and Greens, among others. At the same time Granier will help Freshperts to grow outside of Catalonia under the franchise format”, comment sources from the bakery chain, founded by Juan Pedro Conde.

The service will be launched at the beginning of October in several Spanish cities. For now, the distribution will be carried out through third-party aggregators, such as the Glovo or Uber Eats platforms, although in the future, the idea is to create its own platform that integrates the distribution.

In addition, Fresh Delivery Brands also plans to manage the delivery of other food companies. In fact, it has already closed an agreement with the Enrique Tomás ham chain. The business will be led by Sergi Zacariadis, a partner at Freshperts, together with Sara Serantes, CEO and founder of the delivery company.
