The Government requests the third disbursement of European funds for 6,000 million

The Government has already requested the third disbursement from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Mechanism, which should give access to 6,000 million more European funds. The request, sent this Friday through the General Secretariat of European Funds, makes Spain the first country in the European Union to make a move after the first two incomes. The decision is executed between critics of the opposition for the management of the aid.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Finance sent to Brussels the request in which it certifies having met 23 milestones and 6 objectives throughout the first half of this year. Specifically, according to reports from the department of María Jesús Montero, the Government transmits to the community authorities that important economic reforms are already in force. Among them, the partial pension and Social Security system so that self-employed workers gradually contribute to a new system based on real income.

It is also important to highlight the entry into force of the law on measures to prevent and combat tax fraud, a regulation that allows the Tax Agency to combat new types of fraud associated with new technologies and reinforces the mechanisms to deal with them. to tax avoidance by large multinationals through abusive tax planning. Likewise, the rule prohibits tax amnesties.

In the official document of the Executive, Brussels also receives an account of the reform of the bankruptcy law, which establishes a second chance procedure and another special and electronic one aimed at micro-SMEs to reduce the duration and cost of it.

In the third request for payment, the Government also reports the reinforcement of the fight against forest fires with the modernization of aircraft for extinction and the improvements in the rate of access to the minimum vital income.

From now on, the European Commission has a period of two months to carry out the analysis and verification of the documentation presented by the Government of Spain to make the disbursement, in accordance with article 24 of the Regulation of the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism.

With the 6,000 million that the Government expects to receive in this third disbursement, it would add 37,036 million euros. Until now Spain has entered 31,036 million, of which 9,036 million were paid as pre-financing and 22,000 million euros for the first and second disbursement. In case of obtaining a positive evaluation by the European Commission, Spain would have already met 121 milestones and objectives out of a total of 416, which would be equivalent to almost 30% of the total, reports the Treasury.

The Government boasts, among critics, of "cruising speed", when deploying the recovery plan. There are calls for 11,000 million euros spread over 53,600 projects. Of this total, 42,000 correspond to companies, 5,800 to local entities and more than 2,800 are being developed by universities and technology centers.
