The Government proclaims that in Catalonia there are only "nostalgic separatists" from 2017

The Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños, has proclaimed this Wednesday that, thanks to the "courageous decisions" of the Government of Pedro Sánchez, Catalonia "is no longer a problem for Spain" and that five years after the illegal referendum of 2017 there are only " separatists nostalgic for confrontation" located in the "we would do it again" and a right that is "guarantee" of "conflict" in that community.

This is how Bolaños has replied to the president of Ciudadanos, Inés Arrimadas, who has pointed out as the "greatest threat to Spain", even above "separatism", the "insatiable ambition" that he blames on the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and He has stated that "hatred of Spain" is going to be "an excuse for criminals" with the new Penal Code.

The duel between the two took place in the control session of the Government in Congress, a quote that Arrimadas took advantage of to question Bolaños directly about the benefits that the suppression of the crime of sedition and the "reduction" in the penalties for embezzlement agreed between the PSOE and ERC.

Arrimadas has blamed Bolaños for the fact that the Government, instead of legislating to combat theft, illegal occupations, corruption or separatist attacks on Catalan families who also want an education in Spanish, resorts to "infamous tricks" to change the Criminal Code in favor of "four criminals convicted of the 2017 coup".

"From now on, hatred of Spain will be an excuse to commit crimes and stealing will be easier if someone is a partner of Pedro Sánchez. You are necessary collaborators with separatism," the leader of Ciudadanos has sentenced, accusing the Executive of "humiliating" the Police , "control" the judges, and "destroy" the law, which are the only ones that, in his opinion, can create "problems" for some "coup plotters" whom the Government seeks to "get out" of jail.

In short, Arrimadas has indicated that the government gives separatism "everything it asks for" and has assumed that it will also give it "an independence referendum" precisely because Bolaños has denied that it will be like that.

"You have replaced separatism as the greatest threat to our democracy, which today is the insatiable ambition of Pedro Sánchez. The real problem is no longer your partners, it is you. You believe that tomorrow's news is going to erase today's events, but they have gone too far and they will never be able to erase them from the history of Spain and the memory of the Spanish people and sooner rather than later they will have to give an account for it," Arrimadas warned.

Bolaños replied, alluding to the crisis that Ciudadanos is going through and pointing out that perhaps it has to do with the fact that Arrimadas is "absolutely interchangeable with the extreme right and the extreme right" which, he said, led Catalonia to "unbearable conflict and tension". to which the current government has put an end.

The minister has insisted on placing the 'orange' leader in that opposition that "insults, is untruthful and denies legitimacy to the Government" and on defending that the Government's policy towards Catalonia is bearing fruit. Thus, he has said that if in 2017 the Catalan conflict was the "most serious" problem for citizens, it now ranks 45th in that ranking. "We have worked with dialogue and understanding against those who lived with their backs turned to Catalonia, like the PP; those who live against Catalonia, like Vox; and those who, like you, flee Catalonia," he snapped at Arrimadas.

"We are programmed to seek solutions to the Catalan problem and we do it with courageous decisions because they are the ones that are already normalizing the political situation in Catalonia, which is no longer a problem for Spain," he indicated.

In this context, he has asked Ciudadanos not to act like "the separatists nostalgic for the confrontation who are in the 'we would do it again'. You would once again strain Catalan society and sow discord and confrontation and we are going to work as long as we are Government for the situation to normalize", he concluded.
