The Government approves the relief of Dolores Delgado as State Attorney General

The Council of Ministers has approved this Tuesday the relief of Dolores Delgado as state attorney general, sources from Moncloa confirm to La Vanguardia.

After a long career as a prosecutor in the National Court, Dolores Delgado (Madrid, 1962) was appointed State Attorney General in February 2020, after having been Minister of Justice of the Government of Pedro Sánchez from June 2018 to January 2020.

Delgado would have submitted his resignation for personal reasons, and will be replaced at the head of the State Attorney General's Office by his right-hand man until now as head of the technical secretariat, Álvaro García Ortiz, according to government sources.

The Minister of Justice, Pilar Llop, will appear at a press conference after the meeting of the Council of Ministers to report on this change.
