The fourth day of strike at Ryanair leaves two cancellations and 168 delays

Two flights have been canceled this Thursday and another 168 have suffered delays in the last day of strike of the four to which cabin crew at Ryanair are called this week in Spain by the USO and Sitcpla unions.

As reported by USO with data up to 7:00 p.m., the two canceled flights were on the Barcelona-London and London-Barcelona routes.

The delays have affected Palma de Mallorca (50 delayed departure or arrival flights), Malaga (26 delayed) and Barcelona (20) to a greater extent.

In Valencia there have been delays in 18 incoming or outgoing flights; in Madrid, 14; in Seville and Ibiza, 11 in each case; in Alicante, 9; in Santiago, 8, and in Girona, 1.

In the four days this week in which there have been stoppages, since last Monday, 20 cancellations and delays have been registered in 785 flights, according to USO figures, which again denounces that the company "has continued to scab" flights "with foreign staff to deny the strike".

The strikes affect the ten Spanish bases where Ryanair operates (Madrid, Malaga, Seville, Alicante, Valencia, Barcelona, Gerona, Santiago de Compostela, Ibiza and Palma de Mallorca).

Ryanair has already suffered another 14-day round of strike this summer that involved nearly 300 canceled flights to or from Spain, according to the union, which denounces that since the beginning of these mobilizations the company has fired 11 cabin crew from illegally and has opened disciplinary proceedings against another hundred.

For its part, the airline has been highlighting this week that it expects a minimal impact on its operations in Spain due to these stoppages and recalls that it has recently reached an agreement with the Workers' Commissions on wages, schedules (four active days followed by three free) and the complements of their Spanish cabin crew.
