The fortified heart of Matarraña

In the Photos of La Vanguardia readers today we visited Vall-de-roures (Valderrobres), in the Ponent Strip, in Teruel. We are in the capital of the Matarraña region, where you can see the beautiful historic center with the stone bridge.

The Matarraña River also stands out with its transparent and clean waters, as well as the 16th century Town Hall in the Mannerist style in the Lower Renaissance.

Another point of interest is the Santa Maria la Mayor church from the 14th century in Levantine Gothic style, without forgetting the castle-palace, from the 12th century and subsequent remodeling.

As a curiosity, we can read a weekly newspaper (written with NY and Ñ) with the name of the same river, the Matarraña, the vital axis through which human activity in the region lives, grows and develops.

This town is on the list of the Most Beautiful Towns in Spain association. These photographs give an idea of why it is considered such.
