The second edition of the "Salats" Wine Fair, which sublimely unites the influence of the sea and exquisite wine craftsmanship, will be held at the Fishermen's Market in Arenys de Mar (Maresme) on Friday, July 14, at 6 p.m.: 00 h. at 10:00 p.m.
Organized by the sommelier Arnau Barangé of La Copa Negra de Arenys de Mar, the fair explores the influence of the sea on viticulture, a crucial aspect that brings incredible diversity and depth of flavors to the world of wine.
"The wines produced near the coast, in areas such as Alella, Garraf, Rías Baixas, Jerez..., have a subtle and captivating marine presence, thanks to the breeze and fog that modulate the temperatures during the growth of the grape," says Arnau. After a successful first edition, the "Salats" Wine Fair seeks to become a recurring event, with exceptional tastings and enriching conversations with winemakers and industry experts, an opportunity to immerse yourself in the influence that the sea has on viticulture. .
The focus includes the traditional role of salt in preserving foods, such as anchovies, ham, olives, and much more. Also projects that have unique characteristics of specific soils, such as licorella, salon and honeycomb, which provide these saline nuances to the wines.
With these elements, the "Salats" fair becomes a unique and complete event, which not only celebrates wines, but also highlights the role of the sea in viticulture and local gastronomy. This will be an unforgettable opportunity to discover new flavor experiences and connect with the projects and products that are influenced by marine salinity.
The fair will be attended by more than 30 wineries from Catalonia, the Balearic Islands, Andalusia, Galicia, the Canary Islands and Germany, among others, and more than a hundred wines and cavas can be tasted.
