The fault of the price of energy is that we improvise

"In the energy sector, as in almost everything, there are winners and losers," says researcher Pablo Foncillas. And specifically, "those countries that plan ahead and design their energy policy well tend to be better placed to compete in the energy market than those that improvise."

You have to keep the latter. It is another of the simple but powerful ideas that are unraveled in this series of videos on energy. Even from the birth of a new installation, such as a hydroelectric or a nuclear one, for which years are needed. Or at his death, when the decommissioning and transition to another technology is planned.

"Defining and implementing an energy model takes years... many years. And changing the model, too." Factors such as closures in certain business activities due to reconversion must be taken into account; loss of jobs derived from the new professional profiles demanded by the new energy models; affectation of landscapes; affectation of flora and fauna...

As a more than obvious example, the energy interconnection between countries, so current today. Or the sale of assets after years and years of operation and huge investment.

Taking all this into account, why should we avoid improvising when we talk about energy?
