The entrepreneurial ecosystem exhibits potential with the Tech Spirit congress

"There was a desire to reconnect, to distort the meetings and to chat calmly face to face, this time without masks," acknowledged Marta Campillo, an investment analyst at Bstartup, Banc Sabadell's investment vehicle, who yesterday managed to meet with 60 entrepreneurs during the first day of the Tech Spirit congress, organized by the Tech Barcelona association.

The initiative, which was born in 2020 in response to the cancellation of Mobile, demonstrated for the third time in a row the dynamism of Barcelona's digital ecosystem. Not only with the 580 quick meetings between investors and entrepreneurs organized by Acció, the agency for company competitiveness of the Generalitat. Especially for the conferences that featured dozens of speakers from different sectors linked to innovation and technology. Early in the morning, the congress began with a speech by Eduard Xatruch from the Disfrutar restaurant, followed by lectures on entrepreneurship in Ukraine, public investment in technology companies, venture capital in Europe or the successes of health startups. in the city.

At noon the "local heroes" of the ecosystem also intervened. Pol Valls, from the Submer company; Jordi Romero, from Factorial and Anna Maiques from Neuroelectrics, who replaced Elisenda Bou-Balust, founder of the startup Vilynx (sold to Apple in 2020) who was unable to attend the congress due to illness.

At this conference, the speakers highlighted the need to value the robustness of the city's ecosystem and its ability to attract international talent. Maiques added that it is necessary to create local references for future generations and break the reputation that entrepreneurs still have in society. "It's good to get rich and create value in the economy," said the founder of Neuroelectrics.

The atmosphere in the Llotja de Mar was lively all day. The general director of Tech Barcelona, Miquel Martí, assured this newspaper that the third edition is being a success. “We have established ourselves as one of the benchmark events in the city's digital ecosystem. In this third edition we have 150 prestigious speakers and some 8,500 registered, a number that is quite a record”.

The congress celebrates today its second and last day with presentations on innovation in the music, education, real estate and cryptocurrency sectors.
