The emotional moment in which Taylor Hawkins' son paid tribute to his father live

"Exciting, shocking, historic." These were just a few approximations of the emotions felt by those who had the honor of attending the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert in London.

The drummer of the American band Foo Fighters died on March 25 at the age of 50 a few days after giving a concert at the Estéreo Picnic festival in Bogotá, Colombia. Following this tragic and untimely loss of Hawkins the band immediately suspended the tour until last night, at which point they staged a tribute concert at Wembley Stadium in London.

A show that rose to the occasion, which shone with stars of the stature of Paul McCartney, Stewart Copeland (The Police), Brian Johnson (AC/DC), Kesha, John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin) and other names that exhaust all the tickets of the most important stadiums in the world.

But if there was a leading name - and of which Hawkins could not be more proud - it was that of his son Shane. The 16-year-old took the stage to play drums and pay tribute to his father with the Foo Fighters as the song My Hero played.

The camera flashes were shot at the speed of light to immortalize a historic and very emotional moment for all fans of the drummer. Earlier, the group's leader, Dave Grohl, could not hold back tears of emotion during the performance of Times Like This. "At times like this you learn to love again," he said.

He added: “We are here to celebrate the music, life and love of Taylor. He was always making you smile. Nobody laughed, danced and sang like him. I'm sure all of you who admired it from afar felt the same way. So today we are going to sing, dance, laugh, cry and shout. Let's make some damn noise so Taylor can hear us,” he concluded.

Hawkins died in Bogotá, a few moments after feeling severe pain in his chest. The forensic study carried out on the artist ruled that ten different types of substances were found in his body, which caused heart failure.

In addition, the size of his heart was twice the normal volume, weighing 600 grams, when normal is 250 grams.

Forensic experts concluded that the rocker died of "cardiovascular collapse" caused by an overdose of heroin, added to a cocktail of other substances that made it impossible for oxygen to enter the body's tissues.
