The United States television academy has already made a first vote to decide which series and which talent deserves to be recognized for the 2022-2023 season. There are surprising decisions such as the appearance of Obi-Wan Kenobi among the nominees for the best limited series, despite the atrocious criticism, or the nomination of Wednesday as a comedy, taking into account that it does not quite fit in this genre. But, taking a look at the candidates, one fact cannot be denied: HBO Max had a very good dramatic crop with The House of the Dragon, The Last of Us, Succession and The White Lotus competing as the best series of the year.
Among the nominees, it also stands out, for example, the entry of Andor as best dramatic series, the strength of The Bear among the comedy candidates, the recognition of Jenna Ortega after the phenomenon that has led to Wednesday or the nomination of Christina Applegate for her work in Dead to me, which she did after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
