The eleventh meeting between Catalonia, Aragon, the Government and the COE ends without agreement

Representatives of the central government, the Generalitat, the Government of Aragon and the Spanish Olympic Committee held their eleventh meeting on Monday with a view to presenting a candidacy to the International Olympic Committee for the celebration of the Winter Olympic Games in the Pyrenees, in Aragon and in Catalonia.

The eleventh meeting between Catalonia, Aragon, the Government and the COE ends without agreement

Representatives of the central government, the Generalitat, the Government of Aragon and the Spanish Olympic Committee held their eleventh meeting on Monday with a view to presenting a candidacy to the International Olympic Committee for the celebration of the Winter Olympic Games in the Pyrenees, in Aragon and in Catalonia. A meeting that has ended without an agreement to present a joint project, as reported by the COE in a statement.

In said statement, the COE, through its President, Alejandro Blanco, and with the support of the Government, expresses its decision to "continue its work in order to present a technically unbeatable project that is socially, economically and environmentally sustainable, that contributes to the regeneration of the host territory, and that, at the same time, responds to the requirements and regulations of the International Olympic Committee, for which it will continue evaluating the best options, in order to materialize the presentation of said candidacy".
