The deputy Mónica Lora will be the Vox candidate for mayor of Mataró

The Vox National Executive Committee (CEN), as La Vanguardia has learned, has appointed Mónica Lora as a candidate for mayor of Mataró to run in the municipal elections, which will be held in May 2023.

Born in Mataró, Lora is currently a member of the VOX parliamentary group in the Parliament of Catalonia led by Ignacio Garriga since the party acceded to the chamber in the last regional elections, where she is a spokesperson for policies and issues of equality, feminism, family and childhood.

After the news was released, Lora stressed that VOX is running in these municipal elections with the firm intention of "stopping a new tripartite" and has indicated that lowering taxes, boosting economic activity, and prioritizing that social aid be for Spaniards will be the main axes of his project for Mataró, as well as "abundantly ending illegal squatting". In this sense, she is convinced that her candidacy will restore "security, order and common sense" to the capital of the Maresme region.

Married and mother of four children. Mónica Lora began working at a very young age in the textile sector. She has been actively involved in the development of various family businesses. With studies in Early Childhood Education, she worked in several schools in Maresme until she was a councilor in the Mataró City Council, where she served for two terms, being the first woman on the list to be elected and the youngest councilor twice in the consistory.

He is currently also part of the Vox Barcelona Provincial Executive Committee. Prior to her political stage, Lora participated in social activism as a volunteer for the Mataró Animal Protection Society and as an active member of the neighborhood demonstrations called by the platform “Mataró stays in Spain”.
