The dense fog forces flights to be cancelled, diverted and delayed in Valencia and Alicante-Elche

At least five flights have been canceled at Valencia airport and four at Alicante airport in the early hours of today, November 20, as a result of poor visibility caused by dense fog that has been affecting the Valencian coast since yesterday, according to confirms the AENA Communication department.

The irregularity of the phenomenon means that some flights are landing, while others are diverted to other airports. For example, Valencia has received a diverted flight from Alicante at a time when its runways have been cleared, while passengers from Vienna and Lyon who were due to land in Manises have been diverted to Madrid, those from Rome to Barcelona and those from Algiers to Ibiza.

At 10:30 in the morning the screens at the Valencian aerodromes announce numerous delays in both arrivals and departures and the companies are awaiting the evolution of visibility to make the corresponding decisions.

In Alicante, flights from Madrid and Helsinki have been diverted and the majority of those that have landed have done so late, something that is expected to continue happening throughout the morning as the vast majority of arrivals and departures announce delays in many cases of one hour or more compared to the scheduled time.
