The Councilor for Human Resources of Badalona City Council (Barcelona North), the republican Manel Sorribas, through a statement, has denied all the accusations implicit in the complaint filed by the union of local police commanders (SICPOL) where it is imputed the concealment of sanctioning files of agents of the Urban Guard.
"I flatly deny that on my part the obligation to initiate a disciplinary file has been paralyzed or omitted," says the councilor, denying what is stated in the complaint presented by the union and which refers to fifteen files of information reserved for police officers local. Sorribas emphasizes that, since he joined the department, "I have promoted the processing of all confidential information procedures or disciplinary files" of which the Human Resources department was aware.
During 2022, Sorribas continues in the statement, five disciplinary proceedings have been initiated and instructors and secretaries are appointed, all of them concerning events that occurred during 2020 and 2021. Therefore, he denies that there is "harm or favoritism" in what he considers an essential public service for the community, such as the Urban Police.
Regarding the imputation of inaction before a "covert strike" in the Urban Guard, facts that happened on November 10 and 14, 2022, the councilor records that the situation is being investigated by the Resources Service humans With the reports and documentation provided, the collaboration of the General Directorate of Security Administration of the Department of the Interior of the Generalitat, through the General Sub-Directorate of Support to the Security System in the Local Area, has been requested, for clarify the facts, as well as the presumed responsible for such facts.
