The Council will approve on Friday the first aid to those affected by the Alto Mijares fire

The president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig, has announced this Tuesday that next Friday, April 14, the plenary session of the Consell will approve a series of direct aid to those affected by the Alto Mijares fire that since March 23 has affected different towns in the interior of Castellón.

It will do so from Montanejos, one of the towns where the Council's plenary session will be held and where structural measures will also be taken to resolve this situation that "greatly worries" the Valencian government due to the drought this year and the high temperatures that are they are giving.

In the appearance before the media after the inauguration of the new members of the Consultative Legal Council, Puig has made a "very negative" assessment of the fire, which this Tuesday has been finally extinguished by the Provincial Fire Department from Castellon.

The fire started last Thursday, March 23 in the town of Villanueva de Viver and from then until March 31, when it was controlled, it has burned more than 4,700 hectares of great ecological value. In addition, at that time, it forced the eviction of more than 1,700 people from small towns in the interior of Castellón and also from Teruel, a border area where the flames were considered controlled more quickly than in the Castellón area.

One of the affected towns was Montanejos, where the post-emergency technical office will also be located to manage aid, as happened last summer after the fires in Les Useres, Bejís and Vall d'Ebo.
