The Consell approves aid for those affected by the rise in mortgages and more funds for rent

The President of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, has announced the implementation of an extra support of 48 million euros for youth rentals and the implementation of new measures that seek to compensate families with mortgage loans due to the rise in prices interest rates.

The measure was agreed upon at the meeting held by the head of the Consell in the Palau with the second vice president and Minister of Housing and Bioclimatic Architecture, Héctor Illueca, and the Minister of Finance and Economic Model, Arcadi Spain. The plan pursues, according to Puig, "intensify the great objective of the Consell to respond to inflation, help Valencian families and promote useful policies of first necessity."

The Youth Rental Bonus is reinforced by a contribution from the Generalitat of an extra 30 million of its own resources, which are added to the 22.8 that were already planned. With this reinforcement, 8,900 young people will be reached with the support of 250 euros per month for two years.

In addition, another extraordinary family aid is approved due to the rise in Euribor, intended for people with medium and low incomes, to compensate for the rise in variable-rate mortgages for habitual residences.

As Ximo Puig explained, it will be a direct and unique help for a mortgage. "The measure is aimed at those who dedicate the most effort to paying the mortgage, specifically, those whose mortgages have been reviewed since April 1, 2022, whose interests have risen by more than 30%", has specified.

For these cases, two cases are arbitrated: a 600-euro grant for families with incomes of up to 25,200 euros and who dedicate at least 40% of their salary to the contribution, and a 300-euro grant for families with an income of up to 33,600 euros and that dedicate at least 50% to the mortgage.

In both cases, the application for aid will begin in May and it is estimated that it will reach some 30,000 families, with a public investment of 18 million euros.

This support measure will be compatible with an additional initiative planned for the income campaign, such as the deduction of up to 100 euros to offset the rise in interest. As you have recalled, this deduction is intended for individual income of up to 30,000 euros and joint income of up to 47,000 euros.

The Vice President and Minister of Housing, Héctor Illueca, has highlighted that the Consell demonstrates with these measures, which are part of a broader package to alleviate the effects of inflation, "it is on the side of humble people".

Likewise, it has stressed that the extension of the provision of the Youth Rental Bonus, which is added to the contributions of the central Government, will allow a response to the need to help the youth population to access housing and to serve the maximum number of beneficiaries and beneficiaries.
