The communes are already demanding the resignation of Borràs as president of the Parliament

Comú Podemos has demanded the immediate application of article 25.4 to the President of the Parliament, Laura Borràs, once an oral trial has been opened for the alleged splitting of contracts at the Institució de les Lletres Catalanes (ILC).

The spokesman for the commons, David Cid, believes that Borràs would have to resign as president of the chamber and that she can keep the act of deputy, but suspended in rights and duties until there is a sentence. "She has to resign as president because we cannot have an interim appointment for six months or a year," Cid justified, at a press conference minutes before it was made public that the TSJC had opened an oral trial against Borràs.

For his part, the leader of Vox in Parliament, Ignacio Garriga, has announced that they will present a petition to the table of the chamber so that the regulation is applied and the president, Laura Borràs, "ceases to be a deputy and, therefore, president of the Parliament of Catalonia".

Garriga has explained his intention that the Table immediately address the Borràs case. "Separatism is corruption," he added.
