The Civil Guard locates two of the four kangaroos that escaped from a zoo in Castellón

The Civil Guard has located two of the four kangaroos that escaped yesterday from the Jardín del Papagayo zoo located in Benicarló in an area of orange trees. The agents have located and captured one of the females and have rescued her calf, which had fallen from the marsupial bag and was found by a SEPRONA agent in an area of orange groves in Vinaròs.

Likewise, the SEPRONA Civil Guard, together with veterinarians and zoo managers, continue to search for the other two animals -another female and her calf- that move at high speed and hide in the vegetation. The forecast of the search teams is that the animals are in the rural area of Benicarló and Peñíscola, a neighboring town.

The website of the Castellón zoo explains that in the enclosure they have specimens of birds, turtles, flamingos, ocelots, lemurs and kangaroos and that of the latter there are two types of the so-called Red Kangaroo.
