The CIS maintains the 5-point advantage of the PSOE over the PP after Sánchez's threat to resign

The Sociological Research Center (CIS) continues to give the PSOE a wide advantage over the PP of 5.1 points in vote estimates in its last barometer for the month of May, prepared after the decision of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, to continue at the head of the Executive.

According to the survey, whose field work was carried out between May 3 and 8 based on 4,013 interviews, the PSOE would win the elections with 35.5% of the votes, followed by the PP, with 30.4% and with Vox in third position, with 10.2%.

The distance between socialists and popular is practically half of what the CIS had estimated in a flash survey that collected citizen opinion during the five-day reflection period that the head of the Executive gave himself to weigh his political future, then located in 9.4 points.

The survey has also analyzed what we already know as the crisis of the five days in which the President of the Government announced that he could throw in the towel after learning that a court had accepted a lawsuit against his wife promoted by two extreme organizations. right. The crisis was resolved with the decision of the President of the Government to continue in office after announcing his intention to “regenerate the political climate.”

On this issue, the CIS asks what opinion this decision deserves and more than 40% of those who knew about it reject it, considering it negative (11.7) and very negative (29.2%). On the contrary, 36% rate it favorably, with 14.8% considering it very positive and 28% considering it positive. Another 13% do not consider it negative or positive.

The public opinion institute also asks what opinion politics generates in those interviewed and the answer is boredom and distrust, which is what 37% of those who gave their opinion in the survey opt for.
