The celebrations of the Croatians after the victory against Brazil caused seismic movements

The Department of Geophysics of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Zagreb has reported this Sunday that its seismographs recorded on Friday seismic movements caused by the celebrations during the Croatia - Brazil quarterfinals of the World Cup in Qatar 2022 that ended with the Croatian victory and his pass to the semifinals.

On their Facebook page, the Croatian experts also publish photos of their seismograms that demonstrate the movements, explaining that the undulations recorded are not typical of "real earthquakes."

The registered movements first coincided with the moment when Bruno Petkovic managed to tie the game (1-1) in the second part of extra time.

Also, when the goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic saved the first penalty, and finally when the Croats won the game after the penalty missed by the Brazilian Marquinhos.

The seismographs also ensure that the most striking seismographic changes were recorded in Zagreb and Rijeka, the two main cities of the Balkan country, where there were many fans following the historic game.
