The candidacy of Compromís in Burjassot remains in the air because of the controversy over the 'Trans' Law

"Quan toca regarem", this famous phrase by the Compromís deputy in Congress and virtual head of the coalition list for the Generalitat, Joan Baldoví, has become the perfect comment they use in training when they do not want to pronounce on an issue controversy. This is how they respond when asked about the possibility that the coalition dispense with Burjassot's candidate, who was ratified by the local collective, due to her position contrary to the Trans Law that her party defends.

In Més Compromís, the majority partner of the coalition and to which the mayor belongs, they do not rule out any scenario "always respecting municipal autonomy", but also "the ideological values of Compromís". In Initiative they do not speak publicly either, but they would like another profile to be chosen because they understand that, although everyone has the right to disagree, public officials have to share and defend the values and positions of the party.

It is not an easy decision. Training sources consulted by this newspaper point out that it will be difficult to reverse the decision of the Burjassot group, since the party includes the right to disagree as long as they do not vote -as a public office- against the criteria of the party.

And it is that the controversy over the extension of the rights of the trans collective was already experienced in the Més congress. There was a proposal from the militancy against the changes in the statutes regarding transsexual people that was rejected by 88% of the delegates. And in this line, the pressure from part of Més Compromís is increasing.

However, voices from the local group of Burjassot defend that Maria Viu will be the candidate and that she is a "very good" electoral poster. The question is what will happen if Viu refuses to sign the document that Compromís intends to approve in its next executive (next Tuesday) in which it will force all its municipal candidates to "fight for the values of Valencianism, progressivism, environmentalism, feminism, LGBTI equality and rights for Trans people". One last requirement that, as explained by La Vanguardia, the management launched to avoid controversy after the appointment of a candidate by Burjassot.

All this one day after a concentration organized by the Lambda collective is held in the Plaça de la Reina de València to defend the rights of the trans collective. An appointment to demand that the Government unblock the law that extends rights to these people and that will once again divide the left.

An important attendance is expected from Compromís and the coordinator of Unides Podemos, promoter of the blocked state law, Pilar Lima, has already made a call for participation in the rally, with a message to the PSOE.

And it is that the Valencian socialists are aligned with the majority position of their party at the state level, although PSPV sources did not rule out that the LGTB secretary of the Valencian federation could attend.

This has been shown on their social networks very close to the arguments defended by Carla Antonelli who dropped out of the party due to delays in processing the 'trans law'.

A position that generated an internal stir in the party, even more so when coinciding with the participation of the Minister Gabriela Bravo and the former Vice President Carmen Calvo in a Feminario organized by the Diputación de València where both criticized the Trans Law, the PSPV LGTB official wrote in social networks: "Feminine: 0 women with disabilities, 0 black women, 0 Roma women, 0 trans women, 0 migrant women in vulnerable situations, 0 Muslim women... Rich white women's seminar? What are they discussing?" . And he added: "It is a shame that a group of 'good' ladies with 500 euro shoes are talking about the privileges of trans people who live on the margins, in many cases with problems of basic human need. And on top of that they call us misogynists. Fed up ."
