The Can Batlló super children's play area opens

The most unique element of the new play space is a 9-meter-high tower with three closed slides that come out at different levels, the highest with a drop of 11 meters, so that the game is progressively challenging and attractive for all ages. ages. The first level is accessed with a transfer tarp, an element that makes it accessible to children with reduced mobility or who use a wheelchair.

In addition to this central element, the space has trampolines, seesaws, an individual spinner and a collaborative one with wheelchair access, topographies and undulations in the pavement to run, roll and balance, and also swings that hang from the old structure. of the block. Another novelty is three giant swings, designed to attract teenagers and adults to play again.

The pavement of the play area is made of rubber, to guarantee safety in the risk of falls and accessibility, and of sand. The dynamic game elements have the safety area marked in a contrasting colour, so that all boys and girls can easily and clearly identify them.

The children's area is located within the perimeter of the walls of the old Block 12 of the Can Batlló factory complex, which have been preserved to preserve the heritage interest and leave Onze de Juny street with facades on both sides. The walls help to delimit all this diaphanous and uncovered space, with five entrances on both sides that will be closed at night. But for now, only the one on 11 de Junio street, in front of Block 11 of Can Batlló, will be opened, so that work on the rest of the park can continue.

At the end of June, a shaded area with canvas will be added, also taking advantage of the structure of pillars that has been maintained from the old nave. This playground is included in the first phase of the construction works for the new Can Batlló park.
