At six in the morning yesterday, one of Sabadell's main water supply pipes, six meters in diameter, suffered a serious breakdown. According to the Cassa company, it burst accidentally, for reasons that are being investigated, and affected the supply of neighborhoods and districts of the city, with low pressure and even with occasional cuts, especially on high floors, during the early hours of the morning. . The incident "directly cut off the water supply that comes out of the tank in the Can Llong neighborhood, the largest in the city, which supplies most of the neighborhoods," they pointed out from Aigües de Sabadell.
The incident occurred on the corner of Adriana Street and Budapest, in the Can Llong neighborhood, and with the burst, liters and liters of water came to the surface, flooding the area with two feet of water and alerting the neighbors. The areas of Sabadell where the water pressure was lower were Can Roqueta, Creu Alta, Torre-romeu, Poble Nou and a part of the Center, according to details from Cassa. The service was reestablished around noon, although yesterday afternoon the main fault in the pipe still had to be resolved.
The incident caused traffic disruptions. Adriana Street was cut off between Budapest and Lusitània for hours to fix the underground hole, and sections of Font i Sagué were also affected, to clean up the area. TUS bus line 4 had to be diverted along Lusitània street and the Ronda de Europa.
