The Bot route to the Fontcalda sanctuary

In Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia we recommend today, through this photographic report, the route between the town of Bot and the Fontcalda sanctuary, in Terra Alta.

It runs along the old train track that led from Puebla de Híjar to Tortosa and is now enabled as Via Verda for tourism by bicycle and on foot, with a total of 5 km.

You can contemplate beautiful and impressive landscapes that cross the Cavalls and Pàndols mountain ranges with wonderful views of its mountains that surround the Canaletes river, crossing the old train tunnels, some of them illuminated.

Until we reach the sanctuary of the Mare de Déu de la Fontcalda, where we find a hot water spring that gives it its name.

Once there you can visit the church, there is a restaurant to regain strength and we can bathe in the river if the weather is good, in the middle of a charming place. Without a doubt, a beautiful place to visit.
