The initial route, which had to go through the Casa Rosada and the Obelisk, where millions of people were gathered, was modified on the fly by the uncontrolled crowd that collapsed streets and highways to see the world champions.
Several hours late, Messi and company, closely followed at all times by a dedicated crowd, approached the center of the Buenos Aires capital with the long-awaited Cup, where they completed the circuit on board helicopters due to the impossibility of continuing by land.
