Its risky recipe has made it the public's favorite.
More than 220,000 people have passed through the Plaza de l'Univers de Fira de Barcelona since last October 20 and until yesterday, transformed into the stage for the final of the event. 22 candidates for the title of Best Burger in Europe have come to the Catalan capital with their food trucks to publicize their proposals.
The public was in charge of acting as a jury for the contest. Once they had tasted a burger, they had to rate it using a QR code based on criteria such as flavor, originality, bread, meat, quality..., among others. During these ten days, the votes have been accumulating that have allowed us to crown the best burger on the entire European continent.
And the chosen one was Emmy-B, from the Valencian network Jenkin's. The burger is prepared between two donuts (donuts without a hole) glazed with maple syrup, USA Prime Black Angus beef, smoked cheddar cheese, caramelized onion, bacon bites, pickles and Korean sauce. An extravagant proposal that has conquered the majority of attendees.
Jenkin's proposal has already won the award for best burger in Spain in 2022 and that is why the restaurant took it again to the final in Barcelona in 2023. "Our favorite burger has done it again," they expressed on social networks. This preparation, surprising for that sweet touch of the sedan, is sold in its establishments for 14.90 euros.
The second prize went to the Pryngles's burger from La Muralla, a restaurant in Castellón that won the award for the best burger in Spain 2023, and the third to All Star Franklin, the proposal from The Ranch Smokehouse, in the city of Barcelona.
