The authors of the book Economic Structure of Spain, Ramón Tamames and Antonio Rueda, have defended the model of public-private collaboration for the progress of the country, during the presentation of its 26th edition, this Wednesday at Foment del Treball.

Tamames has warned of the "situation in decline" of the Spanish demography, the growth difficulties of the agricultural sector, the limits of energy growth and the delicate situation, in his words, of the science and innovation sector, as detailed by Foment del Treball in a statement.

He has also criticized that "politicians lack an overview", and has described the book as a pill to improve the Spanish economy.

And Rueda has highlighted that Spain is a country "with great capacities" and has underlined the values that businessmen must have, such as effort and initiative, in his eyes.

In his speech, the Chairman of Agbar, Ángel Simón, argued that "the current uncertainty requires more than ever tools to discern and respond to global challenges".

The secretary general of Foment, David Tornos, also participated in the act; the president of the General Council of Economists of Spain, Valentí Pich, and Professor Francisco Granell.
