The arch of fog and spectrum of Morro de l'Abella

In this series of photographs in La Vanguardia Readers' Photos we can contemplate a very foggy landscape with a small specter of Brocken and an arch in the Morro de l'Abella.

Morro de l'Abella is a viewpoint with fantastic views of the Sau reservoir, which is located a few kilometers before reaching the town of Tavertet.

Below, from this privileged view from the viewpoint, we will see the reservoir and, in front, we will have the Puig de la Força and, to our right, the Salt de Tirabous.

But, on days with a lot of fog, what dominates the landscape is precisely this meteorological phenomenon so common in the Osona region.

In weather conditions like these we can observe the optical effect of the fog arc, which is like a rainbow, but white.

And another phenomenon is the Brocken specter, which was first observed and described in Germany by Johann Silberschlag in 1780. And since then it has often been recorded in German literature when talking about, for example, the devil and the witches.
