Tezanos defends his management and being able to express himself "without coercion"

The president of the Center for Sociological Research (CIS), José Félix Tezanos, has defended the credibility of the surveys and the expression of their opinions "without coercion." One day after affirming that the image of Alberto Núñez Feijóo is "deteriorated" and the commotion that was subsequently generated, Tezanos has defended being able to give his opinion even if he directs an institution and has assured that he has always referred to the leader of the Popular Party "with respect" .

In the Budget Commission of the Congress of Deputies, the president of the CIS has claimed the "total objectivity" and the "rigorous methods" with which the body works and that keep it from losing prestige, despite criticism, according to the former leader of the PSOE. In this sense, he has ridiculed the accusations of alleged bias, mostly launched by the PP. Tezanos has challenged the popular to explain why there was a change in the leadership of his party "if the polls were going so well for Pablo Casado", as they claimed from the formation. "They had a jewel," he added. For Tezanos, focusing on the polls distracts the party from the objective of capturing votes and believes that it places it in "a debate of losers." According to the sociologist, this strategy is a "mistake" in political terms.

Tezanos's words come a day after pointing out that the fall of the PP in the last barometer was due to "a deterioration in the image" of Núñez Feijóo and for having shown a "lack of economic knowledge" in the debates.

The survey published last Monday by the CIS placed the PSOE in first position with a four-point advantage over the PP if the general elections were held now. These results gave rise to accusations of lack of bias towards the person in charge of the CIS, whose management has been questioned on many occasions by some sectors of the opposition.
