TerrorMolins programs 140 films under the leitmotif of horror musicals

Lovers of the horror genre are in luck. This Friday, November 4, TerrorMolins, the Molins De Rei Horror Film Festival, launches its 41st edition with 140 films that can be seen on the screens of La Peni and the Teatre del Foment, the main venues of the festival.

The contest, which officially began on October 27 through the Filmin platform, which hosts 33 titles, takes place under the leitmotiv of horror musicals, a festive theme through which the screening and show of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, the retrospective of great films of the genre or the tribute to the Mallorcan composer Joan Valent, this year's honorary award.

In addition to a program with more than a hundred pieces, between feature films and short films, around thirty parallel activities will be available to enjoy terror in all its forms. Of all those selected, from more than 30 nationalities, up to 60 films are Catalan, Spanish, European or world premieres.

Also at the level of guests and accredited it will be a very outstanding year, with more than 250 presences between accredited industry and press and teams of the featured films and shorts presented. The teams of Mad Heidi, Viejos and Project Wolf Hunting are among this year's guests.

This year's honorary award goes to the figure of Joan Valent, Mallorcan composer, conductor and musician who has worked with filmmakers such as Álex de la Iglesia, Antonio Chavarrías, Agustí Villaronga, Sigfrid Monleón or Alejandro González Iñárritu. He is the current director of the Pollença Music Festival and is the author of the official Anthem of the Government of the Balearic Islands.

His filmography includes the scores for El bar, El Rey de La Habana, Musarañas, The Witches of Zugarramurdi and Birdman, among others. Valent will receive the honorary award on Sunday, November 6, and the following day there will be a talk where he will review his career followed by the show "Respect-tacle: Micromusical of terror that does not play, but does respect", created by Triamusica especially for the occasion. .

Within the framework of the festival, there will also be a Professional Conference and the Argentina-Spain Co-production Forum, which are consolidated as meeting points for professionals in the sector, especially focused on genre cinema.
