Territorio accelerates renewables and gives the 'ok' to most projects according to Compromís

The pitfalls in the Ministry of Territory (and specifically in the General Directorate of Landscape -in the hands of Compromís-) have been saved. This is clear from the cordial meeting held yesterday by the Regional Minister for Territorial Policy, Rebeca Torró, the regional secretary for Regional Policy, Urban Planning and Landscape, Immaculada Orozco, the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Rafael Briet, and the General Director of Landscape, Rosa Pardo, to analyze the progress in the renewable energy files presented that must receive a whole series of favorable reports before the end of January.

Otherwise, as this newspaper has been explaining, the promoters will lose their rights and will be exposed to significant economic losses, being able to seek responsibility for the administration's delay in resolving the files.

Due to the lack of agreement in the department that Torró directs, it will no longer be: Now these projects need to achieve a favorable Environmental Impact Declaration (DIA) -which depends on the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, Climate Emergency and Ecological Transition- and the final approval of Economy.

Yesterday, Minister Torró explained that her department has reported favorably in recent weeks on renewable energy projects in the Valencian Community totaling 763 megawatts, including photovoltaic plant and wind plant projects. And all, and no less relevant, with the consensus between the two main parties of the Valencian Government.

The socialist leader has confirmed that, aware that the deadlines had to be accelerated, the Ministry has increased the processing and "practically all" of these files have already been reported. At the beginning of the month, 70% of the files were paralyzed and there were strong discrepancies between the socialist leg of the Ministry and the Autonomous Secretariat led by Compromís on how to interpret the omnibus decree on renewables.

So much so that they had to resort to the Generalitat's Attorney's Office to see who was right when it came to reporting on the projects presented. After receiving the letter from the Lawyer's Office, the waters calmed down and everyone began to work in the same direction.

It has not been specified how many of the projects have been unblocked, but sources from the Ministry explained to La Vanguardia that of those 65 paralyzed that almost all are already, although very few have fringes left that in fact between Thursday and Friday could be finished . They highlight that there are up to 763MW favorable, but there are also other conditional or unfavorable ones, which are being finalized for approval in the coming days.

Regarding unfavorable cases, it is pointed out that the report responds to technical criteria and there is no room to argue.

In this way, the Ministry, after reporting these files, has referred them to the Ministry of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Commerce and Labor as the substantive body ultimately responsible for their approval.
