TecnoCampus consolidates its university masters in business with 80% of its students of international origin

The Mataró TecnoCampus is consolidated as a reference training center at an international level. This is demonstrated by the fact that 80% of the students enrolled in the master's degrees in the field of business are of international origin. In this area, the center offers the master's degrees in Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Logistics, Supply Chain and Maritime Business, whose pre-registration period for the next edition is now open.

The Master's in Entrepreneurship and Innovation has a total of 24 students from 11 different countries, which already gives an idea of the international projection of these studies. Students come from places like the Czech Republic, China, Chile, Italy, Mexico, Poland, Colombia, Nicaragua, the Netherlands, Spain and Peru. “It has been quite a challenge to have such a heterogeneous group after the harsh pandemic that we have suffered in the previous two editions of the master's degree,” explains the director of the master's degree, Giovanni Giusti. “We have high hopes for this group of 24 entrepreneurs and we are convinced that some very interesting projects will emerge,” he adds.

One of these students is Juan Francisco Lecaros, from Puerto Varas (Chile), who has chosen this master's degree as a complement to his Commercial Engineering studies at the Universidad del Desarrollo, in Chile.

For Lecaros, the academic level, the quality of the teachers and the prestige of the university have been the determining factors for choosing the TecnoCampus. It also highlights that having the HUB4T, where companies and universities converge, "is very attractive to further expand the possibilities of insertion in the European labor market." “I am convinced that this program will enrich my professional development and will allow me to update my knowledge and skills in different disciplines”, he values.

From the master's degree, Lecaros highlights "the teaching methodology based on practice developing a real project and, on the other hand, the extensive job offer that exists in the Job Market." In this sense, he is convinced that the master's degree will help him in his goal of promoting his own business: “I am sure that this master's degree will give me the necessary tools to do so”. “Today more than ever I need to update myself with new techniques and ideas, refresh work methods and immerse myself in an environment of innovation”, he assures.

Iris Fiorella, from Lima (Peru), is also studying a master's degree at the TecnoCampus, specifically, Logistics, Supply Chain and Maritime Business. With a degree in International Business Administration, she assures that for her it was "a very pleasant surprise" to discover that this master's degree on logistics was being carried out in Mataró, "the field where I have been developing professionally for the last few years." She decided to sign up for the master's degree because of her degree of specialization, and also because it is supported by one of the best universities in Spain and because it grants an official degree that she can validate in Peru.

In addition to the specialization, Fiorella highlights "the face-to-face visits that are made to different leading companies in the market, to the port and the master classes that will be taken on board a ship, these experiential experiences are unique and enriching for all students".

The Master's in Logistics is one of the most demanded of the TecnoCampus. This year alone, it has received more than a hundred applications, which has made it necessary to carry out an arduous selection process. Finally, in this course the master has thirty students of eight different nationalities. As explained by the director of the master's degree, Jesús Martínez, "the difference in profiles, which complement each other, allows for the creation of a very cohesive group where synergies will be established to obtain the best results in their stated objectives."

Many of these students have experience in the logistics sector or related areas, in many cases, independent of their initial university career, with which the student participation factor will enrich the debates that are usually held in the classroom. This is the case of Fiorella, who explains that she would like to "continue in the world of international transport, specialize more in a specific product such as the transport of dangerous cargo or work as a freight forwarder or a shipping line in the commercial area". At the same time, he would like to "start a foreign trade advisory business, there are many small companies that, due to ignorance, make many errors and cost overruns and I would like to guide them."

This Peruvian student explains that the freight forwarding sector in her country is going through a difficult time due to the high demand for specialized services and the large number of companies in the sector. For this reason, she indicates the need to offer value to differentiate itself from other companies and seek efficient solutions for customers. “We have a long way to go to improve our services, meet customer deadlines and improve costs,” she concludes.

In addition to the two business master's degrees, the Master's in Personal Training and Physical-Sports Rehabilitation was also launched last October, within the field of health, which is also offered by the TecnoCampus. The fourth edition of this program has begun with the subjects of "Anatomical Bases applied to personal training", by Dr. Ferran Abat; “Physiological bases applied to personal training”, by Dr. Jorge Castizo and “Biomechanical bases applied to personal training”, by Dr. Ventura Ferrer.

These contents have been especially interesting for the students, according to the coordinator of the master's degree, Sara González, who assures that "the beginning of the fourth edition of the program has been excellent".

According to Ferran Abat, "sport can make this world a better place, and my vision is that of a community of athletes with solid values and conscious and respectful of each one's physical abilities, abilities that can be enhanced, but above all look after".
