Tchouaméni fractures a toe and will be out for six to eight weeks

The euphoria with which Real Madrid ended the last classic was somewhat dampened this Sunday morning when tests confirmed that Aurelien Tchouaméni has been diagnosed with "an incomplete stress fracture in the second metatarsal of his left foot", according to the medical part of the club.

The French midfielder will be out for between six and eight weeks. He could miss six games, four in the league and two in the Champions League. His reappearance is expected for the second weekend of December, at the Bernabéu against Betis.

Tchouaméni was being one of the basic pieces for Ancelotti this season as a means of containment. He had played fourteen games, in which he had had 1029 minutes, recovered 49 balls and scored a goal, against Girona in Montilivi.

Tchouaméni's loss forces Ancelotti to rethink the midfield. Normally, his position is occupied by Kroos, a position that the German does not like too much, as he prefers to play higher up. Another possibility is that the substitute for the injured man is Camavinga, who adapts to any position.

In the case of Mendy, another who withdrew from the classic due to discomfort, the tests have not detected any injury. Ancelotti has given three days of rest to the squad, who will return to training on Wednesday. The next match will be on Sunday, November 5, against Rayo Vallecano at the Bernabéu.
