Tarragona improves the roads TP-2044 and TV-2048 of Vendrell in Sant Vicenç de Calders

The Tarragona Provincial Council conditions the TP-2044 and TV-2048 highways that link Vendrell and Sant Vicenç de Calders. The work, with an investment of 1 million euros, will widen the highway and calm traffic at the accesses of the two municipalities. A safe itinerary for cyclists and pedestrians will be built between the two towns, a 1.36 kilometer stretch of road where more than 2,000 vehicles circulate every day.

The project plans to widen the road and improve drainage with passable ditches. In addition, it will improve the access intersection in Sant Vicenç de Calders with the construction of a roundabout with an external diameter of 28 metres, a ring road at the southern intersection of the TV-2048 highway, the Camino del Mar and the Costa Roja path.

In the access to the urban nucleus of Vendrell, sidewalks, walls, railings, tree wells and other urbanization works will be built and speed reducers will be installed as elevated pedestrian crossings. The works will last ten months and will entail specific effects on traffic that will be duly signposted.

The representative of the Territorial Assistance Service (SAT) of the Diputación de Tarragona, Miquel Subirats, and the mayor of Vendrell, Kenneth Martínez, visited last week the works that will serve to improve the comfort and safety of all users.
