'TardeAR' premieres with discreet data, but surpasses 'And now, Sonsoles'

New television stage for the veteran communicator Ana Rosa Quintana. After almost 19 years at the helm of Ana Rosa's program in the mornings on Telecinco, the network's leadership asked the journalist to make a jump to the afternoons and be the image of a new magazine that would replace Sálvame: TardeAR.

After months of preparation, promotion, nerves and excitement, Quintana's new program arrived yesterday on the main Mediaset network. A completely renovated set, the use of augmented virtual reality and a graphic line that does not reveal gunpowder, but that works very well, marked the beginning of TardeAR's journey on television. Accompanying the presenter we find collaborators such as Javier Sardá, Alaska, Mario Vaquerizo or Vicky Martín Berrocal.

Although popular opinion on social networks was divided and many criticized the presence of figures like Vaquerizo, who dedicated some controversial words to the players of the Spanish women's soccer team, the magazine worked well and Ana Rosa seemed comfortable and confident.

However, there are nerves in the team regarding the results of the hearings. Quintana has been leading the mornings for years and expressed in an interview that he came to the afternoons "to win" and that doing less than 14% would be "a failure."

This morning, the main audience research portals published the results and revealed that the show premiered with a discreet 11.3% screen share and 905,000 viewers on average, almost three points less than expected by the Madrid communicator. .

It should be noted that the directors of the network were especially expectant about these results because TardeAR is one of the big bets of the season and they have invested a large amount of money in renovating the set, in the use of new technologies, in a pool of 'high-level' collaborators, etc. Furthermore, after the failure of Cuentos Chinos in audiences, the situation at Telecinco is more tense than ever.

Although it is not a fact to celebrate, since Ana Rosa had to settle for being the second most watched program in its slot behind the Spanish Television series La Promesa, Joaquín Prat's former partner surpassed her direct rival.

Quintana managed to gather more spectators than Sonsoles Ónega. The Atresmedia program And now, Sonsoles yesterday achieved an insufficient 11.1% audience share and lost the battle against Mediaset by just two tenths.
