Tamames interrupts Sánchez to reproach him for coming "with a bill of 20 pages"

The candidate for the presidency of the Government in the motion of no confidence presented by Vox, the economist Ramón Tamames, 89, has interrupted the reply to his speech by the chief executive, Pedro Sánchez, to reproach him for responding to his first intervention with " a billet of 20 pages”, for which he has been reprimanded by the president of the Congress, Meritxell Batet.

Sánchez had already been in his first response to the candidate for about 40 minutes in a long and lengthy speech, which has far exceeded that of Tamames, and he was talking about the management of the climate crisis and water management in the midst of the drought , when the candidate has become visibly impatient and from the seat he occupies has begun to stir, annoyed, by the duration of the speech by the chief executive.

"It cannot be that you come here with a bill of twenty pages", Tamames was able to say before the microphone was deactivated, after which Batet reminded him that he could not intervene when the President of the Government is in use of his word.

After Batet's admonition, Sánchez resumed his speech and told Tamames that he was only answering the theses of the Vox candidate for La Moncloa and has continued talking about the digital management of water in the face of its scarcity with continuous allusions to the candidate for the government presidency.

The president's speech has lasted up to one hour and 40 minutes, after which, already in the use of his word, Tamames has once again made the duration of the speech ugly in which, in his opinion, Sánchez has not responded to the questions that he had raised. "In one hour and 40 minutes (Isaac) Asimov explained the history not only of the Roman Republic but of the entire Roman Empire," Tamames pointed out wryly. In line with this, the candidate has allowed himself to suggest to his lordships "change the house rules" to avoid "having to talk so much."
