Susi Sánchez has taken the Goya for best supporting actress. An award that was sung, because Sánchez is splendid in her role as Begoña, mother and grandmother, in Cinco lobitos, the debut feature by the Basque director Alauda Ruiz de Azúa.

The actress took advantage of her minute of speech when collecting the award to demand the cooperation of men in the fight for women's equality: "This film has given us women a lot of strength, but there is still work to be done, we are half and the other half are you, so far few doors have been opened for us, basically the ones in the kitchen and the ones in the bedroom, we need you companions to open the doors together".

This is the second Goya for Sánchez, who already picked up her stubbornness in 2019 as best leading actress for La enfermedad del domingo, by Ramón Salazar, where she played Anabel, a woman who is reunited with her daughter 35 years after having abandoned her.

The Valencian actress has developed the bulk of her career in the theater, although she has also become a well-known face on the big screen, especially thanks to her participation in some Pedro Almodóvar films such as Pain and Glory (2019), Los Amantes Pasajeros (2013) or The Skin I Live In (2011). In addition, she has participated in the films by Fernando González Molina that make up the Baztán trilogy based on the novels by Dolores Redondo.
