Stuani suffers from a cardiac arrhythmia and will be out for a month

Girona captain Cristhian Stuani suffers from a benign cardiac arrhythmia that will keep him out for at least a month. This was communicated by the club this afternoon through a brief tweet in which they detailed his condition and the estimated period of absence.

Shortly after, the Catalan team's coach, Míchel Sánchez, appeared at a press conference prior to the league visit to Mallorca and sent a message of reassurance: "Stuani is perfectly fine and all the tests that have been done on him have reassured us ”. The coach has assured that the captain will return soon: “Stuani is part of Girona's heart and will continue to beat strong. After three seasons looking for the First Division, this is not going to stop him."

The alarm was unleashed this past Tuesday, when the footballer noticed some strange sensations. He was immediately put in the hands of specialists and withdrawn from training. The tests to which he has been subjected these days have ruled out that it is nothing serious, "a scare, nothing more", assured Michel Sánchez, who affirms that "in a very short time he will be back".

Doctors have estimated a period of four weeks off, but sources from the club have explained that it is a "precautionary" term, that the footballer is fine and that if it were not for being an elite athlete who must submit his heart to a great effort, this rest would not be necessary.

The 35-year-old Uruguayan striker is Girona's all-time top scorer and had started the season as a substitute in the visit to Valencia (1-0), but he regained his position at the point of attack in the win against Getafe (3 -1) and in the defeat against Celta de Vigo (0-1). Until now, he has played 187 minutes and one goal, against Getafe.

In addition to Stuani for tomorrow's League match (2pm) against Mallorca are Yangel Herrera, Ramon Terrats, Valery Fernández, Borja García, Iván Martín and Ibrahima Kébé, leaving Girona in the draw for their commitment this Weekend.
