Sofitel Barcelona Skipper wins the Hotel of The Year award

Last night the awards ceremony for the best hotels in Europe took place, which takes place annually, and this edition is the fifth, by the magazine Références Hôteliers Restaurateurs. A committee of professionals is in charge of rewarding four- and five-star hotels according to professional and geographical distribution criteria. And the Sofitel Barcelona Skipper was the perfect host to host this gala. About 180 guests were welcomed by the enormous vertical garden that covers the façade of the hotel to the VIP floor where the gala took place. The event was full of glitter, tuxedos and gold prosecco from the Italian winery Bottega.

The European Hotel Awards 2023 are awards that recognize the professional excellence and innovation of companies, and that reward women and men for the excellent work done and for their human qualities. The person in charge of directing the evening was journalist Jerome Chapman, who distributed this year's 21 awards. After the awards ceremony, chef José Sánchez of the Sofitel Barcelona Skipper Hotel prepared a five-course menu to round off a memorable day.

And it was a special night for the Sofitel Barcelona Skipper, which won the prestigious Hotel of The Year award after its reopening last year. Matthias Bernard, general manager of the hotel, received the patinated gold sculpture designed by the French company Schaffner, and thanked those present for nominating him.

The Sofitel is considered an urban oasis, it has a spectacular location next to the beach, many of its 225 rooms have sea views, and among its treasures is a summer rooftop with fantastic views and the Tendiez restaurant, which offers a menu Typical Catalan tapas with an international touch.
